I cannot tell you all enough how much I absolutely love this community. When I put this site together a month ago I had no idea if people would like it or if anyone would even join. I am so happy 92 of you have joined the Black Homeschoolers Club thus far and have really made it your own.

So me honestly I sometimes forget about the group or forget to log on and read the post.
My humble opinion.

I'm guilty of not posting often also--probably due to the fact that I'm a single parent homeschooler who also has to make a living, owns/moderates my own online group, moderates another online group, etc.
I'm not sure what the solution is but will think about it.

You are most assuredly correct. My current icon/avatar is Shirley Chisholm, a true maverick and trailblazer...much like many of the members of this online community.
Be well...

I don't know if you received an email for this, but my buddy is Patrick Goudeau. He's on Discovery Channels' FitTv, and I asked him if he could email you to offer his services as a fitness advisor on one of you websites.
He's a dynamic, and positive black male role model. He's been in the fitness community for years, and has won many awards and competitions. He's a really great guy, and would love to give his support to the community of black homeschoolers on health and fitness issues.
I hope that you will be willing to pick his brains for an interview, he's been looking for an opportunity to give back to our community in a positive way, and reach those who don't realize how health and fitness impact our lives.
He can be reached at www.patrickgoudeau.net. I hope that you will be able to get in touch with him, and he really wants to be able to help all of us maintain a healthier lifestyle.
Thanks,
Genia
I just want to say thanks also. I live in Louisville, Ky. Do you or anyone have any suggestions for pen-pals or local activities for an 11 year old female?
My husband and I were having a brief discussion about homeschooling and it being a grassroot movement. Nevertheless, do you have a general idea of number of black homeschoolers? Is this information being captured somewhere? If so, where?
Many thanks...and I too LOVE this community. Thanks again for starting it.
