Hi. We haven't found another church. Just looking, but that is discouraging at times. No we are not apart of a group. My hubby and I are starting one. If you look on my blog , we are having a workshop at a local library for homeschoolers (bulding wooden drums). All links are there. It should be fun. The man that is doing it is coming from New York. Can't wait!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I pulled an all-nighter about a week ago to get some web work done and lo and behold it only prepared me to stay up the next night with my 8th grade daughter who had a paper due. She does not like to write (she freezes and tenses up with writing assignments) so we had a bit of procrastination working against us. I stayed up for support and we finally went to bed at about 4:30 AM. I'm finally back on schedule. Praise The Lord!

If you're wondering about the "deadline", we tried a virtual school this year (I felt that my older two we're becoming less motivated and needed to learn how to respect deadlines and assessments to prepare them for future learning environments.) But I'll save that for another post.

I started out taking an 8 week quilting class had a Hancock Fabrics store. They may be called Minnesota Fabrics now. I also once knew of an African-American sewing circle that met at Fernwood Park (Chicago Park District) which is not too far from 103rd and Halsted. Please let me know what you find out.

Blessings!

HuggiWorld,

Thank you for accepting my friend request and thanks for the quilting encouragement. Any suggestions on books on quilting for newbies like myself, that you think may be helpful and do you know where in the Chicagoland area quilting classes are taught?

Several weeks ago, I saw a story about a group of women quilters on the news. The women had a quilting club in Riverdale and they made quilt for area hospitals. Regrettably, I did not get a chance to hear the entire story.

All suggestions and more encouragement are greatly appreciated!
